Purpose
The Guide to a Floating Offshore Wind farm has been developed to educate its users about the different lifecycle activities, components, costs, supply chain and other market characteristics of floating offshore wind.
It builds on the existing Guide to an Offshore Wind Farm that focuses on the fixed offshore wind industry. It was written by BVG Associates and funded by the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult (ORE Catapult) and The Crown Estate.
The Guide to an Offshore Wind Farm is available here: https://guidetoanoffshorewindfarm.com/.
Please note that the Guide to an Offshore Wind Farm was developed in 2019, using assumptions about technology and cost that reflect the market at that time. These assumptions do not align with those used in this Guide to a Floating Offshore Wind Farm and are not reflective of fixed offshore wind farms being developed today.
Funders
The Guide to a Floating Offshore Wind Farm has been funded by the Floating Offshore Wind Centre of Excellence (FOW CoE) at the ORE Catapult, The Crown Estate and Crown Estate Scotland.
